"Sparkle for Haiti" New York
Over 300 guests came to celebrate "Sparkle for Haiti" in New York City Sep 16th, 2017. The goal for its founder, Aura Copeland, was to end New York Fashion Week, both in style, and with purpose. The dress code was a deliberate fashion statement, with the gentlemen wearing their black tie and the ladies,- silver, gold, metallics or anything shiny. The theme “sparkle” was aimed to highlight the need for better educational opportunities in Haiti. There are now 300 children in 17 orphanages in Port-au-Prince, Haiti enrolled into CREATE, which is an arts, design, dance and music program specifically designed to provide the most vulnerable children in the community a better set of skills and opportunities so they can succeed in the world.
Everyone attending the event could feel the energy and optimism in the room as the various models and celebrities sashay by. Guest of Honor Anita Covic made powerful and emotional speech on education in Haiti and highlighted future goals for Les Couleurs Charity. Haiti's former prime minister Laurent Lamothe spoke about impact of education amongst the youth.
The guests of honor included:
Some of the other notable names include: Model Annastasia McFadden , model and Russian TV personality Kira Dikhtyar, actress Debora Mace, Jess Ambro (private chef), Dr. Jeff Gardere.
R&B singer DuJuan gave a charismatic live performance to add to the excitement in the room.
Les Couleurs Charity gives 100% of their donations towards the arts education program CREATE in Haiti. The primary goals of Les Couleurs Charity are to inspire, educate and empower children who come from underprivileged backgrounds with limited educational opportunities and to help them to thrive.
Les Couleurs Team now is getting ready to host their first event in Miami at the W hotel South Beach, as well as to host its Annual Black Tie Gala in New York in collaboration with Domenico Vacca where Miss Italy, Eleonora Pieroni will be honored.
To learn more about Les Couleurs Charity or to donate to their mission go to www.lescouleursnyc.org for more information.
Les Couleurs co-founders, Aura and Raminta, started the charity by organizing color-themed events that connected young professionals from various social circles in New York with one goal: party with a purpose, make an impact. The color theme relates to child's crayons in a box that always offer the promise of a playful artistic endeavor.
Nowadays our events are elegant soirees in beautiful venues with accomplished local artists, yet we still keep the playful color-theme true to our spirits.

Summer Solstice Masquerade
What better way to kick off the season than at Les Couleurs “Summer Solstice Masquerade”. The event took place on Saturday, June 17th on the Lower East Side at Sound Lab, Chrystie Street. Over two hundred glamorously attired attendees, many mysteriously masked, paused for a photo op then meandered through the venue's three rooms.
Miss New York 2013 and Miss Nigeria USA 2015 hosted alongside model Kira Dikhtyar, Alisa Baksheeva and Victoria Secret model, - Alicia Hall. Guest of honor at the event, political activist and writer Jim St. Germain signed and gifted his newly published book "A Stone of Hope"as one of the auction prizes.
Opera singer Veronica Iovan, a regular at Les Couleurs events, gave another impressive performance before the DJ Baltell cranked up the tunes for the crowd ready to dance.
Les Couleurs Charity team is extremely proud that the proceeds from this event will allow to augment arts education program CREATE. It will now include dance and music classes for the 300 children already enrolled at fifteen Port-au-Prince orphanages.
We are so grateful for all our generous supporters and look forward to sharing stories of joy and inspiration from our kids in Haiti, created by this much needed and exciting program expansion.
Hearts Without Borders New York
Hearts without Borders Vilnius, Lithuania
Always so very grateful for your support, we would like to tell you about our last charity event and what is coming up next. On October 30, Les Couleurs Charity in New York and Kaukenas Fund in Lithuania joined forces and organized a wonderful charity gala called Hearts Without Borders that collected over 12K euros at Kempinski Hotel in Vilnius, Lithuania. It was a beautiful night, with a fashion show of evening gowns by a fascinating Lithuanian designer Liutauras Salasevicius and musical performances by Lithuanian music stars Vidas Bareikis, Donatas Montvydas, Vaidas Baumila and other amazing artists.
The auction at the end of the event had prizes donated by world class Lithuanian athletes such as basketball legend Arvydas Sabonis, swimmer and world champion Ruta Meilutyte and one of the world’s best soccer players, Cristiano Ronaldo. After the event, half of the donations will support Kaukenas Fund, the charity funded by the great Lithuanian basketball player Rimantas Kaukenas that supports Lithuanian children suffering from cancer, and Les Couleurs NYC Charity, established by - as most of you know - our two Lithuanian friends, Aura Copeland and Raminta Lilaite, which supports arts education for the poorest children, mostly orphans, in Haiti.
Les Couleurs Charity New York: where exactly will the funds go?
The funds will continue to pay for teachers' salaries in Haiti. Les Couleurs Charity currently hires local teachers to give art classes in 3 orphanages and one school in the poorest neighborhoods of Port-au-Prince: Orphelinat Foyer Divin, L’Ecole Pierre Maurice Delmas 31, Marry Mother Orphanage Thomassin 39 and Sapotille Orphanage. The art classes engage children in drawing, painting, crafts and creative writing activities and will expand into music education and dance in the near future.
On December 19 we will hold another Hearts Without Borders event as our annual black tie gala in New York, where 50% of funds will go to Lithuanian children suffering from cancer, and the other 50% will support our arts education for children in Haiti.
It is the 2nd collaboration with Kaukenas Fund and we expect the appearance and support of world class athletes at the event as well. That’s exciting! We are truly looking forward to seeing all our wonderful friends and sponsors at the December 19 Hearts Without Borders gala!
With warmest regards,
Aleksandra Sas, Board of Directors, Les Couleurs Charity
